The route takes them down the Atlantic, around the treacherous Cape of Good Hope, through the ferocious Southern Ocean, past the infamous Cape Horn, and back to France. Along the way, they must battle towering waves, freezing temperatures, sleep deprivation, and the constant risk of mechanical failure, far from any hope of immediate rescue. Some of the most experienced sailors have lost their boats, and tragically, some have lost their lives, making this race as perilous as it is prestigious.

This year, Charlie Dalin shattered expectations by crossing the finish line in just 64 days, 19 hours, breaking the previous record of 74 days, 3 hours. His historic feat redefined the limits of performance in offshore racing. But the Vendée Globe is not just about the fastest, it is about the courage to finish.
Violette Dorange: The Youngest Skipper to Conquer the Impossible
Among the fearless sailors who completed this year’s edition, one name stands out: Violette Dorange. At just 23 years old, she became the youngest sailor in history to complete the Vendée Globe, crossing the finish line after an extraordinary 90 days alone at sea.
Sailing aboard her 60-foot IMOCA racing yacht, Dorange faced the same brutal conditions as the world’s most seasoned skippers. She braved hurricane-force winds, towering waves, and the relentless solitude that defines this race. With no outside assistance, every technical failure, every challenge, every decision was hers alone to navigate. And she did it.
